Junior, Teen, Miss & Mrs. are judged on:
 40% interview (5 minute)
50% evening gown competition
5% on-stage question
5% Introduction

Tiny-Little Divisions are judged on the following
Personality & Poise 25% - Beauty 25% -  Gown 20% - Overall Appearance 20% - 5% on-stage question
5% Introduction

Baby-Teeny Divisions are judged on the following
Personality 20%,  Poise 20% - Beauty 20% -  Gown 20% - Overall Appearance 20%


The National Southern Miss Scholarship Pageant System is an open & at-large pageant
and anyone within the United States is eligible to enter at large if they have a state level title.
It is designed as a premier pageant system to support Education through scholarships. Queens will serve as
Ambassadors for Education within the Southern United States & support all other pageant systems for the upcoming year.
We request that Queens support all pageant systems and make every attempt to attend all pageants in their area.
National Queens can make and are encouraged to make all the appearances they want throughout the year!
If asked by another pageant system director to assist with another pageant system we highly encourage you to do so to the utmost of your ability.
It is required that whenever you make appearances you are dressed appropriately, in a manner that will bring credit to your National Title you
 are representing & the pageant system you are assisting.  There will be a few mandatory scheduled appearances: 2 in Alabama, 2 in Georgia and 2 in Florida,
Plus attendance at all State prelim pageants that advance to Nationals. Additional required appearances for the Queens will be determined by their area they live in.
Queens are also highly encouraged to attend & participate in all area parades & events throughout their area of residence.
The more you promote your title through appearances and events you attend will cause more entries next year in the states & National Pageant.
SCholarships are based on contestants. You are required to recruit contestants to enter. The more contestants there are the more scholarship money that is available.

All 8 division Queens, the Swimwear, Model & Talent Queens will receive a beautiful official National Southern Miss crown,
a high end National banner that is double stone lined, crowning pin, a double column trophy and other gift items.
Prizes are subject to change as neccessary

All other individuals will receive a trophy.

Pageant Rules
**By signing your application, you are consenting to have read, understand & agree
to abide by the Pageant Rules & Info Sheet.
DOOR ADMISSION - $15.00 per person at the door.
"Only Contestants & National Queens admitted free"
(1) At-Large Contestants will compete in the age division they are in the day of the national pageant. All other contestants must compete in the age division they competed in at their State pageant. Contestant must be a legal resident of the United States. Pageant is open to the entire United States of America.

(2) Contestants must have never been married, ever been pregnant or ever had a baby. (Exception is the Mrs. Division). Contestant & those named Queen shall possess poise, personality, intelligence, charm and be of good moral character, always act in a lady like manner & never convicted of a crime. Should there be a problem of any kind during the pageant, during a Queens's reign or related events or by a contestant it is to brought the the attention of the Directors. Any unruly, unsportsmanlike, or any unbecoming conduct by a local queen, Queen, contestant or any member of her entourage, or any disregard for the rules and regulations of this pageant could result in immediate dismissal from further competition without refund.  

(3) Furthermore, during all Queens reign, Queens cannot marry, become pregnant (Exception is the Mrs. Division), or be convicted of a crime during their reign. Queens shall possess poise, personality, intelligence, charm and be of good moral character, always act in a lady like manner & never suspended or expelled from school & never convicted of a crime. All Queens must agree to keep all internet sites, myspace, face book, photos, media, etc… at a level that would not bring discredit to themselves or their title that they hold. In the event that a Queen gets involved in any situation that could bring into question any of the above issues it is the Queens responsibility to notify the Director in a timely manner, so that we do not hear of any issues or possible concerns from other sources 1st.  Situations will be addressed on a case by case basis. All Queens must understand and agree that, should the National Southern Miss Pageant system & director determine that your title be relinquished; Queens will be required to return all prizes given to her without reprisal. Depending upon the severity of the action or behavior, it could result in a permanent barrier from future competition in the National Southern Miss Pageant system. If you should lose your National title, you will not be allowed to compete in the National Southern Miss Pageant system again! If a queen loses her title, she will have to return all prizes including but not limited to crown, banner, trophy, and gifts without reprisal and is responsible for any legal fee's, attorney fee's and or court costs incurred by the pageant system in recouping these items mentioned.

(4) If you win the National Southern Miss title. We ask that you refrain from entering any other pageants during your reign, so you can focus on promoting your title Nationally. If you enter other pageants it may effect your end of year scholarship amount.
The National Southern Miss Pageant Directors must be made aware of any appearances you will be making & give you prior approval. Must always act in a ladylike manner, dress very appropriately for appearances, and always wear crown and banner. Always get dress attire approved by Director.

There will be approximately 10 scheduled mandatory appearances to be determined: 2 in Alabama, 2 in Georgia and 2 in Florida. Plus attendance at all State prelim pageants that advance to Nationals to receive the minimum end of year scholarship.

Additional required appearances for the Queens will be determined by their area they live in. Queens are also highly encouraged to attend & participate in all area pageants, parades & events throughout their area of residence. The more you promote your title through appearances and events you attend will cause more entries next year in the states & National Pageant. Scholarships are based on contestants. You are required to recruit contestants to enter. The more contestants there are, the more scholarship money that is available. Making appearances beyond the mandatory events and the scheduled events is highly encouraged but you must contact the directors for approval. We feel strongly that the more you promote your title and the pageant system, the more entries there will be, which will cause your scholarships to be higher each year.

(5) Miss Queen is responsible for making contact with the National Directors, not other family members. All Queens must be on time for all appointments & appearances.

(6) All National Queens agree to abide by all the rules and regulations set forth by the National Southern Miss Scholarship Pageant Executive Committee Board now in affect or announced thereafter. The pageant will be conducted under the rules set forth by the National Southern Miss Scholarship Executive Committee Board and a contestant agrees that the time, manner, and method of judging the pageant shall be solely within the discretion of the Executive Committee Pageant Board and the judges decision are final.

(7) If there are more than 10 in a Division we will annouce the top 5 in random order, then anounce their placing. If there are more than 20 in a division we will announce the top 10 in random order, followed by the top 5 in random order, then we will anounce their placing.

(8) No refunds unless the pageant should be canceled. Entry fees, optional fees,  your mandatory good luck ad page (ready to print) for the program must accompany application. You may get as many sponosrs as you want to assist you in this.

(9) The number of applications accepted in each age division will not be limited. Contestant line-up will be in alphabetical order.

(10) The registration date to enter is 29 Oct. 2010 & must be Postmarked on or before that date. A $25.00 late fee will be required for any late entries that are accepted.
(See Application for entry fee).
All Entries must be complete & include application, all money, good luck ad page (Ready to be copied), music CD's & photogenic photo's.

(11) At Large Contestants are welcomed to compete in the National Southern Miss Scholarship Pageant.
To be eligible to compete at large they simply need to be meet one of the following:
1. A current state level pageant title holder of any state level pageant system within the United States of America.
2. Any contestant who competed in one of the state pageants that are a prelim to National Southern Miss.
3. A State Queen of the prior year preliminary state pageant  who was ineligible to compete due to her being the prior year reigning State Queen.
Contact the national directors with any questions on this.

(12) All contestants must be sponsored by family, friends or businesses with one $100.00 good luck ad. Sponsor will be announced on stage & will be on their personal Good Luck Ad in the program.  For their $100.00 they will also receive a 1 program, 1 photo CD, & 1 DVD of the National Pageant and 1 full page good luck ad.

Additional ad Pages can be purchased at $100.00 each and must be submitted with application and be ready to be copied.

(13) The National Southern Miss Talent, Swimwear & Modeling Queen competitions are open to all contestants. Entry is only $50.00 each. They will be scored separately from the eight division competitions as separate optional competitions for a National Title. Please understand that entering these optionals increases your opportunity at a National Title in the event you do not win your division. The competitions will take place after the beauty competition score sheets have been turned into auditor.
You choose you music and you must turn in a CD with your song with your application or we'll choose an upbeat song for you with a good beat to walk & Model to.
You will have a time limit of 90 seconds at which time if you are not done the Sound person will fade your music out.

The Swimwear & Modeling competitions will be scored from 1-25 in each of the following 4 areas:
(1) Beauty: of Face and Figure,
(2) Attire: Color, Style & Fit,
(3) Presentation: Modeling Ability, Posture & Confidence,
(4) Overall Appearance:

Two (2) swimwear & (2) Modeling National titles will be crowned. Ages 0 - 9 & 10 - up.

(Ages 0-9) Routine style moding suggested.
(Ages 10-up) Runway style modeling suggested.
Junior Miss age contestants 10-12 can choose either Routine or Runway style in either of the miss competitions.

Queens receive a High End National Level Full Round Crown, Double stoned lined high end white sash finely embroidered in Red & Blue trimmed Banner & Trophy & makes appearances with division Queens.

(14) Compete for the National Title of National Southern Miss Talent Queen. It is open to all contestants. Entry is only $50.00. It will be scored separately from eight division competitions as a separate optional competition for a National Title. This competition is optional but Please understand that entering this optional increases your opportunity at a National Title in the event you do not win your division. The Talent competition Preliminaries will take place after the beauty competition score sheets have been turned into auditor. Chose your best Talent and have the time of your life competing for this great National Title. It is optional to enter this competition. Entry fee is an additional $50.00. All entries will be judged on their Talent & Judges Appeal by the Division Judges of the pageant.
You must advise us on what you will be bringing to facilitate your talent when you turn in your application. If it is to music you must include a music cd with your application.  You will have a time limit of 90 seconds at which time if you are not done the Sound person will fade you out.

Two (2) National titles will be awarded in the Talent competition & will be crowned:

"National Southern Miss - Little Talent Queen"  (Open to ages 0-9)
"National Southern Miss - Talent Queen" (Ages 10-up)

 Queens receive a High End National Level Full Round Crown, Double stoned lined high end white sash finely embroidered in Red & Blue trimmed Banner & Trophy & makes appearances with division Queens.Very nice trophy, Gifts & Prizes.

(15) The National Pageant will not double crown. Should you win your age division and the Talent, Swimwear or the Model competition you will be crowned for your age division only, which takes pecedence. In the event that this happens the 1st runner-up in the Swimwear and/or Modeling competitions will be crowned. This allows us to Crown more National Queens and provide more Queens with scholarships. Please understand that competing in the Talent, Swimwear and the Modeling competitions gives you 4 opportunities at a National Title and a scholarship.
Also, in order to be considered for the SUPREME competition you must be entered into all 4 competitions. The contestant with the highest total score of the 4 competitions will be named National Southern Miss Supreme Queen. Which will be added to her banner.

(16) We request No electronic devices, CAMERA's, Video Recorders, Camcorders, cell phones, beepers, etc.  allowed in the building. This includes members of the contestant's family. We will have a videographer and a photographer at the pageant for your convenience. All contestants will receive a free Photo CD and a Free DVD. We do not want ANYONE walking up to the stage are, the judges area or near the auditors at anytime. Anyone doing so will be promptly asked to leave or law enforcement will be called. Your cooperation is appreciated. We want nice photo's & video's to provide to the families.

(17) No outside food or drinks inside auditorium at the pageant of any kind. Water is OK!

(18) A $40.00 service charge will be charged for any returned checks. Checks not picked up within 30 days will be turned over to the states attorney and/or collection agency at your expense.

(19) Baby & Teeny will not have a question on stage or do an introduction. They will be scored Personality 20% - Poise 20% - Beauty 20% - Gown 20% - Overall Appearance 20%.

Tiny & Little are scored on Personality & Poise 25% - Beauty 25% - Gown 20% - OverallAppearance 20% - Public Speaking: 5% on-stage question & 5% Introduction.
They will have an on-stage question during their walk from Bio Sheet. They will introduce themselves on stage. (Name, division, contestant number, title, state, system, & a little flavor is ok, but keep it under 30 seconds), during the initial introductions and parade of contestants.

(20) Junior, Teen, Miss & Mrs will be scored 40% on a five minute interview, and 50% on evening gown competition, 5% on Introduction & 5% for a on-stage question of something that came up in iterview. They will introduce themselves on stage. (Name, division, contestant number, title, state, system, & a little flavor is ok, but keep it under 30 seconds), during the initial introductions and parade of contestants.

(21) No solicitation is allowed at the National Southern Miss Scholarship Pageant without prior approval from the Director.  You will be asked to leave promptly! We look forward to you joining us in the fun and excitement of competing for this National title & promoting the National Southern Miss Scholarship Pageant System.

(22) There will be an initial parade of contestants, followed by line-up introductions, then on to the division competitions and their individual walks. Then a final group line-up after each division. Tiny - Mrs. will receive their on stage question during their pageant walk at the podium, so their walk must include a stop at the podium.

(23) Please understand that the scoring & auditing of all division competitions and all the optionals may take some time to tally & require a intermission. Your patience is appreciated.

(24) All contestants that are crowned MUST remain for photos after the pageant.
